What is Invisalign?

Invisalign® is a transparent, cutting-edge way to straighten your teeth and a popular alternative to metal braces. It consists of a series of clear, virtually invisible aligners that gradually and gently align your teeth.

Dr. Ferrell is a Platinum+ provider of Invisalign®, a distinction given to only the top practices worldwide.

No brackets, wires or bands. This means that there will be minimal irritation and rubbing against the lips, cheeks and tongue as the Invisailgn® aligners consist of a smooth thermoplastic material, similar in look to teeth-whitening trays.

You can eat normally.

There are no dietary restrictions with Invisalign® as there are with braces. You remove your aligners prior to eating, and brush your teeth before you replace them.

You can brush and floss now just as you always did.

It’s easy – you simply remove the aligners. There are no brackets or wires in the way of letting you brush and floss normally.

You can protect your teeth from grinding.

If you have a grinding or clenching habit of your teeth, the aligners can act as a thin nightguard to protect the teeth from wearing down.

You are always photo ready!

You'll never have to worry about picture day or that special occasion always picturing you with braces. Your Invisalign won't show in your photos!

You'll be more comfortable.

Invisalign technology eliminates poking wires and brackets. Not only does this reduce the possibility of additional appointments to repair broken brackets or protruding wires, but it's also much more comfortable!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Invisalign® Work?

Dr. Ferrell creates a virtual set up of your teeth, precisely and carefully moving them their original position to their final straight position, taking your concerns and your individual biology into account. A series of clear trays, called aligners, are then custom-made for you that move your teeth in the pre-determined sequence designed by  Dr. Ferrell. Each set of aligners is worn for one week before moving to the next aligner in the sequence. You will be monitored in our office every 8-12 weeks during the process to ensure safe, healthy movement.

How often do I need to wear my aligners?

Your aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours per day and only removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing.

Will wearing Invisalign® aligners affect my speech?

In some patients there may be a temporary and slight lisp for a day or two. However, as you get used to having aligners in your mouth, any lisp caused by the aligners should disappear with in a few days.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

In most cases, Invisalign® treatment is comparable to the cost of traditional braces. The cost depends on the complexity of the case and the length of time in treatment. The best way to know is to schedule a free initial consultation with our office.

Does insurance cover Invisalign®?

Because medical benefits differ from policy to policy, you should review your personal coverage plan and check with your insurance provider. In general, if a patient has orthodontic coverage, Invisalign should be covered to the same extent as conventional braces.

Does Invisalign really work?

Yes! Over 2 million patients with a wide variety of dental bites have been treated with Invisalign. Invisalign was developed with orthodontists and used in dental practices worldwide. Dr. Ferrell treats the most patients with Invisalign in the area and has the skill and experience to help you get the smile you desire!
